Daniel Whitely has been working back and forth as both a professional artist and art teacher for at least 30 years. Having two careers at once helps him balance out his work and naturally allows him to step away from his work to focus on his class. Daniel Whitely focuses on modeling what he teaches and brings in his own skills to teach his students. The best thing he is able to model is define your potential; no matter the field you work in or even your age.
As a fine artist, Whitely has several Corporate Art Collections located in Ohio, including the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Nestles Corporation, Kaiser Hospitals and more. He also has five public murals in Cleveland that were commissioned by the City Mission in Cleveland, Ohio. Back in the classroom, Daniel Whitely has been recognized as a presidential scholar teacher in 2008. In 2006 and 2007, he received the National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts Teacher Recognition Certificate by the youngARTS program. More recently, Whitely was awarded the Innovative Educator Award by “eXpressions ART” in 2017 along with a National Educator Award by Scholastic Art and Writing.
In the last five years, his attention has been primarily focused towards Studio Art and Design. Studio Art and Design is connected to a consortium consisting of eleven schools titled Excel TECC. Most of Whitely’s achievements and education in life can be located both at the Studio Art and Design website along with his own website.
