Laura Albert went to the University of Delaware after high school graduation where she studied painting. She graduated with a Bachelors of Fine Art degree in 2004. Upon graduation and after devoting two summers to teaching Arts and Crafts at a local day camp, she decided to pursue a profession in Art Education. She continued her education and received a Master of Education degree in Visual Arts from the University of Missouri. She holds a professional license in Visual Arts for students in grades K-12.
Laura is completing her ninth year as the K-8 art teacher at Gross Schechter Day School in Pepper Pike, Ohio. She enjoys working with children and inspiring their creativity. Laura implemented an after school art club program at Gross Schechter Day School and Apex Academy. She has advanced as an artist and educator by completing coursework at the Cleveland Institute of Art and Notre Dame College, as well as, additional teaching positions during the summer months. Laura has enjoyed various teaching opportunities at Gilmour Academy Summer Program, Friendship in Teams (F.I.T.) Summer Program, and the Willoughby Arts Center.
In her spare time, Laura enjoys oil painting, supporting local artists, arts and crafts shows, visiting museums, playing piano, attending musical theater performances, concerts, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.
